S ACADEMY IN GRADES KINDERGARTEN THROUGH 10TH WILL HAVE ACCESS TO ONLINE LEARNING THROUGH BEKA. THIS SYSTEM WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR ACCESS STARTING MONDAY, MARCH 23, 2020, AT 8 A.M. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THERE ARE CERTAIN GUIDELINES THAT MUST BE ADHERED TO IN ORDER FOR THE SYSTEM TO FUNCTION AND REMAIN IN PLACE. 1) ALL STUDENTS MUST ADHERE TO A 5 HOUR MAXIMUM LIMIT PER DAY. THIS WILL GIVE EACH STUDENT A TOTAL OF 25 HOURS PER WEEK FOR ONLINE LEARNING. THIS IS ENOUGH TIME TO ENCOMPASS INSTRUCTION IN ALL SUBJECTS. PRAISE JESUS; MARCH 15,2020 AS OF TODAY, SUNDAY, MARCH 15,2020 THE MAYOR HAS CLOSED NYC SCHOOLS. IN AN EFFORT TO AFFORD OUR PARENTS TIME TO ARRANGE ALTERNATE SUPERVISION OF THEIR CHILDREN, THE KING�??S ACADEMY WILL BE OPEN MONDAY AND TUESDAY FOR HALF DAYS ONLY. THIS MEANS A 3 P.M. CLOSURE. ALL STUDENTS MUST BE PICKED UP PRIOR TO 3 P.M. WE WILL BE COMPLETELY CLOSED AS OF WEDNESDAY, MARCH 18, 2020. WE WILL REMAIN CLOSED UNTIL, MARCH 31, 2020, UPON WHICH TIME WE WILL REVIEW THE SITUATION AT HAND, AND PROVIDE A FURTHER UPDATE ON CONDITIONS. ALL CLASSES WILL BE SUSPENDED THESE TWO DAYS AND WILL ALLOW FOR STUDENTS WHO HAVE NOT TAKEN HOME THEIR BOOKS, TO DO SO AND FOR TEACHERS TO HAVE READY WORK PACKETS FOR STUDENTS TO CONTINUE EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES IN SOME FORM FROM HOME. THESE PACKETS SHOULD BE READY BY 2 P.M., MONDAY. WE ARE ACTIVELY RESEARCHING OUR OWN MEANS OF POSSIBLE REMOTE LEARNING SHOULD OUR CLOSURE LAST PAST MARCH 31, 2020 AND WILL PROVIDE FURTHER UPDATES THROUGH THIS SYSTEM. WE ASK THAT YOU MAKE ARRANGMENETS TO HAVE ALL STUDENTS PICKED UP AS EARLY AS POSSIBLE FOR THOSE WHO WILL BE IN ATTENDANCE THE NEXT TWO DAYS, AS THEY WILL BE HALF DAYS, WITH A 3PM CLOSURE. PRAISE JESUS; Over the weekend, the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene confirmed the first cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in New York City. While we all hoped this moment would not come, it was something we have tried to prepare for since the recent influx of flu cases. At this time, it is important to listen to facts and not respond to fear. Despite our first confirmed cases, New Yorkers are reported to remain at low risk for contracting the virus. The health and safety of all our staff and students continues to be our first priority. As we monitor the situation, we are enhancing certain protocols and providing additional resources. In recent weeks, we have taken the following actions: We have partnered with Jan-Pro, an industry leader in commercial cleaning and disinfecting, to service cleanings/disinfecting of our school every week, disinfecting surface areas, bathrooms, and point of contact. We have taken steps to ensure we are equipped with adequate hygiene and cleaning materials. Ensuring all bathrooms are continuously stocked with soap, hand sanitizer and paper towels, and encouraging students and staff to wash hands frequently We are strongly encouraging students to take time at start of meal periods for handwashing, especially before meals. We know many parents are worried that absences could affect their childs attendance records. Attendance (while this outbreak is in occurrence) during 2019-20 School Year will NOT negatively impact the current year records. THE KINGS ACADEMY

PRAISE JESUS. SIS M. STREITFERDT, III, HAS ALSO BEEN HIT BY THE FLU. HER CONFERENCES WILL BE CANCELLED AS WELL. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT 2 KEY MEMBERS OF STAFF ARE OUT SICK, AS A RESULT WE WILL BE RUNNING MODIFIED CLASSES. THE KING'S ACADEMY WILL BE OPEN, BUT WITH MINOR ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES. THIS WILL BE IN EFFECT FOR THE REST OF THIS WEEK. IF YOU DESIRE TO KEEP YOUR CHILD AT HOME THIS WEEK, THEY WILL NOT BE MARKED FOR ABSENCES. THE KING�??S ACADEMY December 18, 2019 Praise Jesus! Printed below is an excerpt from the annual contract that must be signed prior to student registration. �?� Tuition is due on the first workday of the month and is payable by cash, money order, or certified check only. If the tuition for your child is not paid on the first workday of the month then there will be a *** 2% late fee added daily to each day�??s then current balance. Please note that this balance will be adjusted daily to reflect the late fees accrued until tuition has been paid***. Tuition must be paid no later than the tenth of the month. If tuition is not paid by the tenth day of the month, your child will not be allowed to attend school until all fees have been paid.. Please do not send tuition with your child, regardless of age or grade, unless prior authorization has been given. �?� **All tuition, fees, late charges, etc. are non-refundable**. In the event that any exception is made to this policy, it is at the sole discretion of the principal and on a case-by-case basis only. Be aware that all amounts will be rounded- either up or down- to the nearest dollar. The 2% daily late fee has been K.A. policy since December 2007. Effective January 2020, there will be strict enforcement of the above-mentioned tuition policies. This will apply to ALL students regardless of tuition plan, length of enrollment, or grade level. There are no exceptions to this policy except under an emergency circumstance. This emergency circumstance should not persist on a monthly basis. Any such circumstance should be communicated to the staff prior to the payment date so that the principal may review the matter and render a final decision. THERE HAS BEEN A CHANGE MADE TO THE ACADEMIC CALENDAR. THE KING'S ACADEMY WILL NOW BE OPEN OCTOBER 7, 2019. FOLLOWING THIS DAY WE WILL CLOSED FOR OUR RELIGIOUS HOLY DAYS OF THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES, AND THEN THE COLUMBUS DAY HOLIDAY. WE WILL REOPEN ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2019 FOR THE NORMAL ACADEMICS PROGRAM.

PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS A CHANGE TO THE UNIFORMS BEING APPLIED THIS YEAR. IN ADDITION TO THE NORMAL SHIRTS AND BLOUSES REQUIRED TO BE WORN, STUDENT WILL NOW HAVE THE OPTION OF WEARING PLAIN POLO SHIRTS. THE REQUIRED COLORS WOULD BE WHITE FOR BOYS, AND PINK FOR GIRLS. THE SHIRTS MUST BE OF PLAIN DESIGN, NO STRIPES, PATTERNS, DECALS OF ANY SORT, EXCEPT FOR THE APPROVED KING'S ACADEMY PATCH. THE REQUIRED UNIFORM TIE MUST STILL BE WORN AS WELL. PLEASE ALSO REMEMBER TO HAVE ALL STUDENTS IN THE PROPER REQUIRED FOOTWEAR. ONLY CASUAL/ DRESS SHOES ARE PERMITTED. ALLOWED COLORS ARE BLACK, DARK BROWN, NAVY BLUE. 2019/2020 REGISTRATION

THE KING'S ACADEMY REGISTRATION 2019-2020 Please read carefully Dear Parents, Yes, it is that time again. Each student must register once every academic school year to ensure guaranteed placement for the upcoming year. To register your child for the Fall-Spring 2019-2020 academic year, please complete the registration form and submit it with the fees listed below. 1) Registration Fee: Per child $ 30.00 2) Books: Prep-3 through Prep-4 $100.00 (LIMITED SPACE AVAILABLE FOR PREP 3) Kindergarten $150.00 1st through 7th Grade $250.00 8th through 12th Grade $280.00 Please turn in your completed registration form along with the registration and book fees beginning Wednesday, September 4, 2019. Please note that book fees for each child are to accompany the registration form(s). One cannot be accepted without the other. We must place the book order and submit payment by spring to ensure delivery in time for the start of the new school year. As a reminder- all fees are non-refundable. The first day of school is Wednesday, September 4, 2019. Tuition for September AND your childs completed medical form must be submitted on this date. Your childs updated immunization record is also due at this time. We suggest that you retain a copy of your childs medical examination form for your own records. Tuition for the month of September is due the first day of school. Monthly tuition is $425 for a 3:45pm pickup. The tuition for students taking advantage of our aftercare hours is $475 and requires pickup by 5:30pm. A fifteen minute grace period is applied to both pickup times, after which time late penalties are assessed. Please note that all payments to the school must be made by cash or money order. No personal checks or vouchers can be accepted. Exact payment is appreciated and will speed the transaction process for all parties.
